"I can't stand to sing the
same song the same way two nights in succession,
let alone two years or ten years. If you can, then it ain't music,
it's close-order drill or exercise or yodeling or something, not music".
(Billie Holiday)

With that said: I do make public posts. Memes, fandom rants, and personal information will be kept under wraps.

If you arrived by searching interests or, most likely, recognized me from someplace else, feel free to drop a line. I enjoy meeting new people. :)

I swear (often), laugh (often) and babble happily about music one evening - then fandom crack the next.

Labyrinth is one of my favourite childhood movies, kinda like The Princess Bride - you know, the ones where you can curl up in front of the tv with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate in your hands and giggle incessantly for the next 90 minutes.

So when I'm looking for good fanfic I almost always go to the Labyrinth section because there are some amazing stories there. Being the romantic, I usually go for the humour/romance and action/adventure genres. But I came across a DevArt fanart and it linked me to a story called

In a Glass, Darkly

OH MY FUCKING GOD. Absolute mindfuck.

Let's just say I rarely read evil!Jareth - and this was amazingly horrifying.

So dear flist, if you crave good fanfic and can handle an emotional roller coaster, I recommend this. Lol.

It was on Disney's XD Channel tonight, and airing weekly on Thursdays, 8pm.

An animated sequel between Tron and Tron: Legacy movies, the focus is placed upon a new character, Beck, who dons the mantle of 'hero' and makes his new way as the new Tron.

I watched the last 5-10 minutes of Ep01 (Beck's Beginning), and all of Ep02 + Ep03 (The Renegade, Part I and II).

The cast is quite full of stars: Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore (Rapunzel from Tangled), Tricia Helfer (Six from BSG, Lance Reddick (from Fringe and LOST) and Bruce Boxleitner reprising his role as the original Tron.

Visually it's gorgeous. The environments just gets you in THE MOOD. Not so fond of the character designs, but I do recognize it's inspired by Peter Chung (Aeon Flux) and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Characters have short torsos and elongated legs. The outfits I rather like, it's the faces themselves I'm not partial to. (eg. Perl) Still, it's damn pretty!

The music is awesome. (Daft Punk and Joseph Trapanese)

The animation is good-okay. I spotted recycled animation here and there, and sometimes the characters move rather choppy. Fight sequences look fluid whether hand-to-hand or on cycles. (I love the cycles. I love the bikes!)

I'm looking forward to the next episode. :D

As some of you may know, I was molested by a family member when I was a child. I have been afraid to sleep (specifically to dream due to terrible nightmares) for almost a month, I am incredibly stressed. The nightmares started again after my parents came to visit several weeks ago.

Unfortunately I cannot turn to my family who refuse to recognize it and deal with it. They prefer to sweep all bad things under the rug.

I have been reading self-help books and searching information and help online. I can't afford to go back to my psychiatrist. I haven't looked into therapy groups yet because I'm afraid to travel due to severe motion sickness.

It just seems so complicated right now. I can't see clearly. All the stresses in life are intertwined into a big tangled ball of yarn and I can't seem to unravel one string without tightening knots attached to other strings.

I've really been missing the LJ :)

I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well (and you don't have the terrible cold that I just recently came down with, blech).

Things that are the same:
- still living in the same place (my landlords are amazing)
- still at the same job (demanded a raise and better hours)
- still in a relationship with the same man (we just celebrated our 3yr anniversary)

New Things:
- spent Christmas w/ my Justin's family. IT WAS THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER! 8D
- I've been on/off a bunch of antidepressant meds. Current one, Pristiq, works well but it's damn expensive. $100+ for 30 days.
- I've definitely gained weight the past couple of months. Lol. Le shit.

Stuff that have caught my interest:
- Lost Girl Forget vampires and werewolves. This Canadian show has a goddamn succubus!
- ABC's Once Upon A Time Watch it here and there. It seems that the heroine always gets served a shit sandwich though.
- Carnivale I know the show has long been cancelled but I borrowed the first disc from the library and it is unlike anything I've ever seen before!

It's been a while :)

Just wanted to keep this form of communication open, because I don't want to fight (I could, but I won't) this depression alone.

Love you all,

There's more than a foot of snow outside and it's still snowing. All this white stuff started yesterday. I've shoveled the driveway three times already. I'm feel like going crazy. Maybe I am.

Or it could be the fact I'm overdosing on chocolate. XD

Fact: I told Justin not to buy me chocolate for Feb.14
Fact: He bought me chocolate anyway.
Fact: It's a chocolate box (actually MILK CHOCOLATE) filled with an assortment of milk/dark truffles.
Fact: I've been pretty good with the sugar lately

Came from a job interview this afternoon and went for a late lunch with my boyfriend. Leaving the food joint, I don't know what happened - maybe I took a step forward and didn't see the hidden step, maybe I was already leaning on the edge of the hidden step, who knows - but I fell forward on all fours and skinned the hell out of my knees.

goes into some detail, cut for those who are squeamishCollapse )
